Meet
Babatunde

For over 30years, I have been rooted in the community as a resident, taxpayer, and a neighbor. I am not a career politician looking for a steppingstone. I am a concerned citizen who has watched the city evolve and intimately familiar with its specific, hyper-local challenges. I have built a thriving life, career, and family in Bowie.
My story is the American Dream realized in real-time. I represent the very best of resilience, uncompromising hard work, and the rich dynamic diversity that makes Bowie a strong economic hub. I am the bridge between Bowie’s proud history and its dynamic future.
“No street should be overlooked. No school should be neglected. Town resources should be shared fairly and responsibly.
I want to ensure that decisions are made with the entire community in mind — not just parts of it. Fairness and accountability must guide how we govern.
Community-First Leadership & Unprecedented Transparency:
I am committed to radical transparency, promising regular, open-mic town halls, active neighborhood
listening tours, and a localized government that returns phone calls.
“I will be the “Mayor of the Neighborhoods”
Smart Economic Growth & Main Street Revitalization:
A thriving Bowie requires a robust, self-sustaining local economy. My vision focuses on aggressively supporting existing local businesses that have survived tough economic times. I will propose cutting unnecessary municipal red tape to attract fresh, high-quality investments to areas like the Free State Shopping Center and Bowie Town Center, ensuring that expansion does not just benefit a few, but elevates property values and job opportunities across every zip code in the city limits.
Safe, Thriving, and Walkable Neighborhoods:
I will prioritize modern, community-integrated public safety initiatives. Beyond just policing, I will advocate for robust youth engagement, supporting institutions like the Boys and Girls Club and programs like the Bowie Youth and Teens Mentoring to keep teenagers off the streets and focused on their futures. Furthermore, I will push for critical infrastructure improvements-fixing potholes, enhancing street lighting, and expanding local parks to ensure Bowie remains a premium place to raise a family.
Accountability is not optional — it’s essential.
I am committed to:
-
Fair distribution of town resources
-
Transparent decision-making
-
Responsible oversight
-
Equal attention to all neighborhoods
-
Making sure community concerns are addressed
When leadership is accountable, residents see real results.
A Fair Share for Bowie
I believe:
-
Every neighborhood deserves investment
-
Schools and infrastructure should not be unevenly prioritized
-
Public resources must be allocated transparently
-
No area of our town should feel forgotten
Bowie works best when everyone is included.
